A Michigan man who police say killed four children Wednesday previously served 16 years in prison in the death of his pregnant wife.
According to reports from MLive and WXYZ, Gregory V. Green, 49, is in police custody after allegedly killing his two daughters – Kaleigh Green, 4, and Koi Green, 5 – and two stepchildren – Kara Allen, 17, and Chadney Allen, 19 – at their Dearborn Heights home.
WXYZ reported that Gregory Green called police early Wednesday to tell them that he had killed his family. Officers said he waited for them on his porch.

WDIV reported that the two teens were fatally shot in the basement. The two younger children died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a car with a modified tail pipe, police said.
The children's mother and Gregory Green's wife, 39-year-old Faith Green, was stabbed and shot, police told WDIV. She is reportedly in fair condition at a nearby hospital.
"It's tough to respond to something like this," said Dearborn Heights police Lt. Michael Krause. "We aren't robots; we're human beings. ... It's going to bother some officers for some time."
This isn't the first time Gregory Green has been linked to a violent death. According to MLive, he previously served 16 years in prison for fatally stabbing his pregnant wife, Tonya Green, in 1991.
Michigan Department of Corrections spokesman Chris Gautz told The Associated Press that Gregory Green was denied parole four times before being released in 2008.
Officials had denied his earlier requests because he "had not shown remorse for his crime, had not gained adequate insight and had a lack of empathy," Gautz said. "After being denied four times, he completed several cognitive-based programs."
Current wife Faith Green has filed for divorce from Gregory Green twice – once in 2013 and again in August, the AP reported. Also in 2013, she requested a personal protection order that was denied.
