The Independent reported that a 3-year-old girl reportedly died after choking on a toy inside of a Kinder Surprise.
The chocolate candy is also known as a Kinder Egg. It is a chocolate egg that contains a small toy which is encased in a plastic capsule.
An autopsy found that the child's cause of death was "airway obstruction."
French police say the girl was with her mother when the incident happened.
Kinder Surprise eggs are made by Ferrero. They come with warnings that the small toy that comes with it could be dangerous to children 3 and younger.
Still, the candy is banned in the US because of a law that says toys hidden in food are a potential choking hazard.
