Leah Still and her family received great news this week when they learned she remains cancer-free, according to the latest scan.
The news came on Wednesday, which is also when Devon Still said goodbye to his daughter before departing for Cincinnati Bengals training camp in Ohio. In an Instagram post, father and daughter share a moment that includes an exchange of words, kisses and choreographed high-fives.
Still's post reads as follows:
"We both knew this day was coming when we had to say bye but we didn't know it would come this soon. I was only willing to show this part of our goodbye because we both make the ugliest faces when we cry so I couldn't do us like that. On a serious note, I'm not leaving her to go out there and play around I'm going to handle business. My daughter has been through hell this past year and now I have the opportunity to make sure she gets the world from here on out. So I'm going to make sure she gets it."
He also included some hashtags, two of which were #LeahStrong #StillStrong.
The Bengals cut Still last season but then re-signed him as a means for him to pay for his daughter's treatment.
Still faces added competition for a spot on this year's roster but has trimmed his weight from 317 pounds in January to 295 pounds earlier this week, according to an ESPN report. He said his daughter's journey has been the inspiration for his transformation.
Leah Still lives in Philadelphia with her family.
