A Mobile, Alabama, neighborhood was littered with Ku Klux Klan recruitment fliers just days before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
At least 50 bags with a flyer that read, "The blacks have the NAACP, the Mexicans have La Raza, the Jews have JDL and white people have the KKK," showed up on residents' doors Saturday in Midtown, according to WPMI.
"Luckily I didn't get one on my door. I think a neighbor must have come by and grabbed it before we could see it, but I'm kind of shocked to see something like that on our street," Tricia Butts told WPMI.
The flyer also included a card with a phone number for the Loyal White Knights, according to WPMI. The phone number played a recording with a disparaging message about King.
What was inside was a recruitment for the KKK asking those in the community to join their organization for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.
