According to Business Insider, the Double Down appears to be a hot dog version of the infamous "Double Down," a sandwich that uses chicken patties in place of bread.
Apparently if you want to try it, you'll have to hop on a flight to the Philippines because that's the only place it's being offered so far and there are reportedly only 50 pieces left, says one advertisement.
Sure, it's weird. But KFC is probably enjoying all of the free advertising on social media from people that can't stop talking about it.
