Three explosions rocked Istanbul's Ataturk airport Tuesday, killing at least 42 people and wounding 239 others, officials said.

Turkish officials said the death toll was expected to rise, after reporting earlier that 50 people had died, according to the Associated Press.

Three suicide bombers are believed to have opened fire before detonating suicide vests. The investigation is ongoing, but the Islamic State is suspected to be behind the attack, according to The Associated Press.
