A woman is alive after being rescued from a rip current along a Florida beach Wednesday morning during Hurricane Dorian.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a lifeguard was able to save the woman they said was standing along the Neptune Beach shoreline and was knocked down by and pulled into a current.

"DO NOT go to the beach," the Sheriff's Office said in a tweet.

Although many people have been intrigued by the impacts of Hurricane Dorian at Jacksonville-area beaches, police are asking them to stay away for their safety.
