How much did the U.S. spend saving Matt Damon? Someone did the math
- Watch people fall trying out the hoverboards they got for Christmas
- Man who spent 19 years in jail after wrongful conviction found dead
- Family opens fake, wooden PlayStation 4 Christmas morning
- Don Lemon silences guest who reiterates Bill Clinton's affair
- Killer whale dies at SeaWorld San Antonio
You know how the movie goes when you see some actors.Sean Bean will always die, Helena Bonham Carter will pretty much always play a heavily made-up woman alongside a heavily made-up Johnny Depp, and Matt Damon, most recently the star of "The Martian," will need to be rescued.
Whether he's been stranded behind enemy lines or somewhere in space (why is Matt Damon in space so much, anyway?), those rescues would be really expensive if they weren't made of movie magic. One Quora user did the math to figure out just how pricey.
The grand total? At least $900 billion. "Interstellar" cost more than half of the budget, but considering the plot of that movie, that makes sense. The cheapest rescues were in "Syriana" and "Green Zone" at a measly $50,000.
The Quora breakdown also mentions that the total budget of all Matt Damon movies where he needed rescuing was $729…or about 0.1 percent of the actual cost of saving him.
