The Houston Police Department said in a news release that Jewel Jamal Hayward, 26, of Houston, was arrested Saturday and charged in connection with the murder of Shawn Palacios on Wednesday. Police believe Hayward dumped Palacios' body in a dumpster at a northwest Houston apartment complex, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Hayward was booked into the Harris County jail and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond, according to Harris County court records.

Prosecutors said after Hayward beat Palacio to death and placed his body inside a gray Rubbermaid container, the Chronicle reported. Hayward then rolled Palacio's body across the apartment complex with a dolly before putting it into a dumpster, the newspaper reported.
