An infant who was likely born hours earlier was found in a dumpster by two boys who heard the baby crying inside from a plastic bag.

Austin Detray was walking with his brother when he heard sounds of an infant in distress. He jumped into a nearby dumpster after hearing a baby inside a tied plastic bag. Detray found a baby with the umbilical cord and placenta also in the bag. The mother of the boys, Jessica Detray arrived at the scene and helped clear the airways of the baby.

The baby was taken to a hospital where staff determined that she was only a few hours old.  The baby is healthy and is in the custody of social services.

The mother has reportedly turned herself in and was hospitalized.

The woman has been charged and was granted $10,000 bond.
