At first glance, Donald Gould looks just like any one of the thousands of vagrants who call the streets southwest Florida home.
His dirty clothes and uncut hair make him look like a panhandler and, he is homeless, Gould's musical talents put him in a class all his own.
Sarasota's WWSB-ABC 7 reports the Michigan native once played in the Marine Corps band and, at one time, was a music student and aspiring teacher. Gould says his wife died in 1998 and that tragic loss sent his life spiraling out of control.
Now, Gould lives on the streets of Sarasota but a viral video of his raw talent could be the stroke of luck Gould needs to turn his life around.
The video shows Gould playing the Styx classic "Come Sail Away" on a piano outside of a Sarasota shop. It's been viewed and shared hundreds of thousands of times over the past few days.
