A gunman opened fire in a parking garage Thursday night at the Miracle Mile Shops on the Las Vegas Strip, injuring two security guards, police said.

The incident occurred on the third floor of the Planet Hollywood parking garage, KVVU reported. It stemmed from a robbery at the Sunglass Hut inside the Miracle Mile shops, as two men stole an undisclosed amount of merchandise, the Las Vegas Journal-Review reported.

Police said “one or two” security guards were shot, adding there were no serious injuries, KVVU reported.

One guard was shot in the hand and a second guard was shot in the neck, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Both were taken to  the hospital. Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Michael Rodriguez said their injuries “were not considered life-threatening.”

A spokesman for the Miracle Mile Shops released a statement confirming the shooting and said the retail outlet is “cooperating fully” with the police, KVVU reported.
