According to Judy Rush, the man handed her a note demanding money.

"I said to him, 'Why are you doing this?' and he said, 'I need cash,' and then I said, 'Get a job!,'" Rush told Channel 11's Cara Sapida.

Rush said she hit the robber with her grocery scanner before threatening him again.

“He said, ‘Give me all your money or I will shoot you,’ and I said, ‘Get the hell out of here,’” Rush said. “I threw it back at him and he said, ‘No, I’m serious. I have a gun, I will kill you.’”

The incident was caught on surveillance camera.

“He kept going, ‘I have a gun and I will kill you,’” Rush said.

Rush said she eventually opened the cash register and took out $40. She then chased him out of the store.

“I was insanely screaming -- not just yelling, but screaming,” Rush said. “I was screaming at the top of my lungs for him to get out. He took off running.”

Rush said she’ll be ready if the man decides to come back.

“I guess I’m going to have to be a pistol-packin’ mama,” she said.

The robber is described as being white, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds and in his mid-20s with shaggy brown shoulder-length hair. He was wearing a gray or green T-shirt, black shorts and a red baseball hat with what appears to be a horseshoe with writing on it.

He may also have a large mole or small birthmark on his right wrist.

Police said the robber may have had a woman accomplice who was driving a Ford F-150 Lariat Super Crew that could be model year 2010 to 2012.
