Earlier this year, a Anita and Wolfram Gottschalk's heartbreak went viral after getting placed in separate nursing homes.
Just weeks after being reunited, Wolfram passed away.
"She is lost without him," the couple's son, Bill Gottschalk, told People.com."(She wishes) they were united sooner."
A photo of the Surrey, Canada, couple wiping away tears went viral earlier this year. Their granddaughte, Ashley Bartyik, posted the photo to Facebook, explaining that the couple married 62 years were placed in separate nursing homes.
