A picture of someone with white skin and dressed in a dark cloak has surfaced on Facebook.
The ethereal figure is seen dropping raw meat as it glides across the ground.
It quickly grabbed the attention of people living nearby leaving some concerned, and others thinking it could be a hoax.
“We don’t know if it’s one of our residents with an interesting way of presenting themselves, or if it’s a trespasser,” Southwood Realty director of operations Lance Calhoun told the Gaston Gazette.
Local police agree. “We don’t know if this is some bogus prank somebody is playing,” police spokeswoman Donna Lahser added.
Social media exploded with reaction.
While some made jokes, people living in the area were not amused.
“This is serious,” Brooke Conard told the Gazette. “We live in a world today where you don’t know what’s going on and you don’t know people.”
Either way, residents don’t like it. “I think it’s pretty ugly and irresponsible if someone is just trying to get attention,” Heather Darnell concluded.
