This upset seven-year-old Colin because though he wants to be a Jedi, he also wants to have a family.
The little Padawan decided to write to Lucasfilm, asking them to change the Jedi marriage rules.
The note reads:
"Dear George Lucas,
I don't like that a Jedi cannot get married. I want to get married without becoming a Sith. Please change the rule. P.S. I want to come to Skywalker Ranch please.
Love Colin"
Much to the young man's delight, the sweet people at Lucasfilm wrote back to Colin, letting him know that marriage, indeed, is in line with the values of a Jedi.
"You are showing great wisdom by asking your question," reads the reply letter, "to be a Jedi is to truly know the value of friendship, of compassion and loyalty. And these values are important in a marriage."
Colin gasps with happiness, saying with glee, "I can get married! No way! George Lucas is so nice!"
