This could certainly be shaping up to become the summer of George.
A bar named in honor of George Costanza, the venerable loser on Seinfeld, opened on New Year's Eve in Melbourne, Australia.
George's Bar features themed drinks and food, images of the Seinfeld character as well as some popular quotes painted on the front doors.
"It's not a lie if you believe it," and "Everyone must like me, I must be liked," are written on the doors co-owner Dave Barrett told the Sydney Morning Herald. Autographed pictures and Costanza-inspired art will also adorn the walls.
The dive bar has captured the attention and approval of Jason Alexander, who played Costanza on the long-running series.
"That's right - I may not have an Emmy, but I got me a bar in Melbourne, Australia," Alexander wrote on Twitter. "G'Day, mates."
The bar offers sandwiches including the Art Vandalay, The Costanza and The Mom and Pop. Drinks include the Summer of George, The Hand Model and the Marisa Tomei.
"George Costanza suits a bar in a lot of ways," Barrett told the Sydney Morning Herald. "The humor around George works."
