Authorities described Abraham Pearson as an armed and dangerous man who escaped in Detroit after stabbing a sheriff’s deputy and stealing his uniform.

Initially, it was reported the suspect’s name was Derek White but his real name is Abraham Pearson. Local authorities say Pearson has several aliases, Derek White being one of them.

"He used a comb that had been fashioned into a shank to overcome the deputy, stabbed him several times into the neck." (Via Detroit Free Press)

"We're told the deputy is okay. He is recovering." (Via WXYZ)

Authorities say Pearson took part of the deputy’s uniform, put it on and walked right out the front door in a matter of minutes.

The suspect, who was in jail for carjacking, stole a gray minivan and drove away. He has since ditched the minivan and is reportedly on the loose somewhere on the eastside of Detroit. (Via WDIV)
