A dog rescued Friday from an icy New Hampshire river is back home and expected to fully recover.
Hampton Fire-Rescue responded after a dog fell through thin ice on the Taylor River. Crews, clad in wetsuits, found a boat along the river bank and used their hand tools to break the ice to get to the dog which appeared to be exhausted.
The dog was warmed and dried before it was given to a veterinarian for assessment, according to fire officials.
The dog is now home recovering, according to Hampton firefighter Bill Paine.
