Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives announced they have made an arrest in the slaying of three people in northeast Charlotte.
Officers have charged 19-year-old Emmanuel Rangel with the murders of Jonathan Alvarado, 23, Jusmar Gonzaga-Garcia, 21 and Mirjana Puhar, 19.
Police said the three were found dead inside a home on Norris Avenue Tuesday night.
Puhar was a former contestant on the television show, "America's Next Top Model."
Early Wednesday morning, detectives with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team found and arrested Rangel without incident.
Investigators said Rangel has also been charged in connection with a murder that took place in Matthews over the weekend.
Officers told Channel 9 that Rangel had targeted the victims and that the killings were drug-related.
"I can tell you this is not a random act of violence," said Lt. Alex Watson.
Police in Charlotte have charged Rangel with three counts of first-degree murder and he was being held at the Mecklenburg County Jail.
