A police officer who oversees the city's red light camera program recently issued himself a citation after he saw video of his violation.
Haines City police Officer Tim Glover paid the $158 and told his supervisor who signed the ticket, which was issued in September.
"I could have easily hit the reject button and probably nobody would have known but me and God, you know, but I'm not that type of person," Glover, who has worked in law enforcement more than 30 years with six years at the Haines City Police Department, told WTVT.
One of the city's 13 red light cameras caught Glover turning left just after the light turned red. Glover said he was watching cars driving straight in the nearby lanes and blindly followed behind a truck in front of him.
His mistake reminds him to not be distracted while driving, he told WTVT.
