Scumbags, drug addicts, hookers and losers are a few of the choice words Mike Manderville has for his next door neighbors.
He’s so fed up with the problems, he plastered a message on a 6-by-8-foot sign with mug shots of the people he claims are the root of it all.
“I basically did this sign to prove a point--that I’m not putting up with this anymore,” said Manderville.
Daytona Beach police said they have been to the apartment complex nearly 50 times in the last several months.
In January, police said they came to the complex with Drug Enforcement Administration agents because of a meth operation and arrested 13 people, including the owner of the complex.
Manderville said he has lived in the complex for 10 years and said the property only became a problem when new management took over last year.
“This is what we got to deal with. They’re just scumbags and losers and lowlifes. They’re just bringing the trash here,” Manderville said.
He’s calling on police to do more.
“I feel like I’m getting no help. It’s like we’re on our own, you know?” he said.
Police said the complex is still on their radar, but the Daytona Beach Police Department’s beachside captain said probable cause to make more arrests, especially in drug cases, is a challenge.
