A puppy's curiosity apparently sent him tumbling about 50 feet down an uncovered metal pipe in a family's garage, and that might have been the end of the story but for three firefighter heroes. (Source: FresnoBee.com)
Timmy, a shepherd mix, went missing for a few hours Tuesday before his family heard him whimpering in the afternoon.
A call for help brought three firefighters to the scene, none of whom could fit 50 feet down an 8-inch pipe, obviously. But these guys have a few tricks up their sleeves.

One of them, firefighter Mark Garcia, lowered a knotted rope down the pipe, according to Fed Department spokesman Pete Martinez, then looped it around the puppy’s leg and torso and pulled him up.
Amazingly, Timmy was not injured.
Garcia was assisted by fellow firefighters Capt. Aaron Gassett and Craig Short — all of them heroes to puppy-lovers everywhere.
