A Colorado town no longer has a police force because all its officers suddenly resigned.
According to KRDO, Green Mountain Falls Marshal Timothy Bradley and all three volunteer officers quit April 14.
KXRM reports that the officers may have resigned because they were unhappy with the newly elected mayor of the 700- to 1,200-population town, Jane Newberry.
“In an election year, there’s always some people who choose to stay and some people who chose to go, and I think that happens at every level of government,” Newberry told KCNC.
Until the town is able to hire new officers, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office will handle law enforcement.
"There’s no reason anybody needs to worry," Newberry told KXRM. "We are a small community, and it’s one of our advantages is we all look out for each other.”
