Elementary school student dies after suspected case of meningitis

NBC25 News reports that an elementary school student died Saturday after a suspected case of meningitis.
The student attended Arthur Eddy Academy in Saginaw, Michigan. The Saginaw County Health Department gave notice to the school principal, Eric S. Gordon, about the suspected case Friday.
The health department is working to confirm the meningitis case and whether it was viral or bacterial, according to 13ABC.
FOX 2 reports that crews spent the weekend sanitizing the school.
The school is closed Monday and will have grief counselors available Tuesday when they reopen. Officials will be ensuring students are protected when they return.
A 4th grader in Saginaw died over the weekend after a possible case of meningitis.
