A Florida woman wasn't going to take her home being broken into laying down.
As WFOR reported, Arlene Orms, 88, lives alone in her Miami home.
Orms heard someone trying to open her front door lock Tuesday night, so instead of waiting for the burglar to ransack her house, she grabbed her .25 -caliber handgun and shot at him, police said.
She fired once, and it is unknown if she hit him, or if he had an accomplice, WFOR reported.
Orms has been living alone since her husband died in 1993.
Neighbors said there has been an increase in burglaries recently.
