A Florida woman was arrested this past week after deputies said she was pulled over for speeding and found with an abundance of anxiety pills, which she blamed on her pooch.
Anita Wymer, 56, was pulled over by a St. Lucie County sheriff's deputy about 3 a.m. on July 10 after deputies said she was driving 90 mph on the highway, TCPalm reports. Deputies said Wymer "smelled of booze" and told them she had "a few drinks."
Wymer took a field sobriety test, which measured her blood alcohol content at 0.116 and 0.119, which are higher than the legal limit of 0.08, deputies said. Thirteen alprazolam and two diazepam pills, which are used for anxiety disorders, were recovered from her vehicle, but Wymer did not have a prescription for them. She told deputies that they were prescribed to her dog and “she only took one,” deputies added.
She was arrested on charges related to having prescription pills without a prescription and one DUI charge.
