When none of Glenn Buratti's classmates showed up for his birthday party, the six-year-old was devastated.
No one RSVP'd but Ashlee Buratti told a local newspaper that she hoped a few would still show up to the party, never thinking that no one would, Ashlee Buratti, said.
According to The Osceola News-Gazette, as her son, who has a mild form of autisim, went off, disappointed, to play with his sister, Buratti took to a Facebook closed group and posted to Osceola Rants Raves & Reviews List, unable to bear the weight of her son's disappointment.
It didn't take long for parents and kids in the community to respond with gifts for the birthday boy.
But the best part for her son, the News-Gazette reported, was when Osceola County Sheriff's Office responded to the call for a birthday rescue mission via helicopter.
A fleet of patrol cars, police dogs and firetrucks stopped by to celebrate with the birthday boy just a week later.
"The amazingness of everybody coming together for somebody they didn't even know, a kid that didn't have anybody come to his birthday party, it warmed my heart," Buratti CBS News reported.
