Dayton shooting: Doorbell camera records response to save lives

People huddled in a doorway and citizens and first responders treated the injured in a chaotic scene captured by a doorbell camera after an Oregon District mass shooting in Dayton.

It's unclear how many people were huddled in the doorway of the building on East Fifth Street just after a gunman opened fire at 1:07 a.m. Sunday.

A person can be heard: “Where are you hit?”

At one point a person says, “We’re OK.”

Police sirens grow louder. Two people move away from the camera to reveal police officers arriving and multiple wounded on the ground, including one receiving CPR and another in a bloodied shirt receiving treatment.

Police lean into the doorway and ask at least two other people if they are injured.

Michael Robere, who leases the storefront and provided the video, said he just installed the camera Tuesday.
