A shooting left multiple people dead and more wounded early Sunday in the Oregon District of Dayton, Ohio.
The shooting suspect, who was killed by police, was from Bellbrook, a small city in Greene County, about 15 miles south of Dayton.
Bellbrook was settled in 1816 and named for one of its founders, Stephen Bell and for the area waterways including Little Sugarcreek, Sugarcreek and the Little Miami River.
It became a city in 1974 after a series of annexations of nearby Sugarcreek Township.
The population is 6,943 and residents have a median age of 43, according to the 2010 census.
Writer Erma Bombeck and comedian Johnathan Winters were from Bellbrook.
