Police say a missing 2-year-old girl was found safe Tuesday afternoon.
The child’s mother was found dead outside her Baton Rouge, Louisiana home last weekend. The toddler had apparently been with someone else the entire time police were searching for her.
The Baton Rouge Police Department says someone dropped off 2-year-old A'Kyleana Latham to a women's shelter Tuesday, not far from where her mother was found. Police did not release any other details about who dropped the girl off, according WAFB.
Detectives say her mother, Taylor Latham, 24, was found inside a car in her own driveway. Officials say she was shot in the head.
Police are now hoping someone will come forward with information about the woman’s death.
