Small town city council meetings aren't usually very exciting, unless gunfire erupts in the lobby.

In that case, things can get pretty hairy and in a hurry.

Video of just such incident has been released by the city of New Hope.

In the video from Monday night's city council meeting, several council members duck under the desk for cover as at least one bullet flies through the door.

One council member can be heard yelling, ""Get down, get down, everybody get down." Someone else shouts, "That went right through the door!"   Seconds later, someone ells yels, "Somebody got shot!"

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, a man burst into the lobby of city hall as a group of police officers were being sworn in.

The gunman opened fire, hitting officers Joshua Eernisse and Adam Johnson.

Police returned fire, killing the man who has not been identified.

Eernisse and Johnson are in stable condition.
