Cold water causes fish to surface on Lake Michigan

Fisherman are noticing hundreds of yellow perch on the surface along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources believes that the cause is upwelling, a rare condition in which cold water rises from the deep, pushing up the fish, according to WGNTV.

The fish can then become a feast for seagulls and ducks.
