Coast Guard suspends search for woman who fell from cruise ship

May 16, 2016The Coast Guard has suspended its search for a woman who fell overboard from a cruise ship.
The Coast Guard ended its search for Samantha Broberg, 33, around 8:15 p.m. Sunday after spending 20 hours and covering 4,300 square miles.
The master of the cruise ship Carnival Liberty contacted the Coast Guard early Friday morning. Surveillance video captured Broberg falling overboard. The ship was about 200 miles southeast of Galveston.
A thorough search of the ship was conducted, and it was determined that Broberg was the only missing passenger.
The Carnival Liberty set sail Thursday from Galveston for a four-day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.
