CNN reporter Ed Lavandera was shoved to the ground Wednesday while covering protests in Charlotte, North Carolina, over the fatal police shooting of 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott.
“We’re fine, just someone taking out their frustrations on me,” Lavandera told CNN’s Anderson Cooper when Cooper asked if he was OK.

Lavandera later tweeted, "For a guy that hates to be part of the story, let me just say I am fine. Thank you for your well wishes. Back to work now."
Wednesday was the second day of protests in Charlotte over Scott’s death. North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency; meanwhile, authorities said four officers were injured and one civilian was shot during the unrest.

Scott was shot Tuesday in Charlotte. Police say Scott disregarded repeated demands to drop his gun, while neighborhood residents say he was holding a book, not a weapon, as he waited for his son to get off the school bus. Police have refused to release video of the shooting.
