A public defender was attacked by an inmate during a hearing Wednesday video of the incident shows.
Julie Chase, an assistant public defender in Broward County, Florida, was punched by the inmate, identified as William Green, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
Public Defender's Office Executive Chief Assistant Gorgon Weekes said Green was waiting for his hearing after he was arrested on a battery charge at a mental health facility, the newspaper reported.
Green can be seen in the video, walking up to Chase and punching her in the head, and her falling to the floor.
Chase had been at a podium defending another inmate who was waiting to have bond set by Judge Jackie Powell.
Warning, the video may be graphic for some.
Bailiffs removed Green from the room at the county jail, WSVN reported. The room is separate from where the judge sits, but is connected by video cameras, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Chase was taken to an area hospital, treated and released.
