An Independence Day tradition that millions tune in to see every year may have left some a little disappointed.
That's because if you watched "A Capitol Fourth" from the comfort of your own living room, you weren't watching a fully live showing of the annual fireworks display.
The Washington, D.C., area was under rain clouds during most of the nation's birthday, so to help fill out the show, PBS added video from previous years' fireworks displays for its live stream, WRC reported.
Viewers went to Twitter and Facebook to point out that the fireworks couldn't have been live because the sky was clear in the video, while the capital was overcast and foggy Monday.
PBS admitted that the show was a "combination of the best fireworks from this year and previous years."
