Animal control officers are trying to find the woman who was caught on camera throwing a pug into the street.
The video has already gotten almost 40,000 views on Facebook.
"We are currently looking for her at this time, she is from what I understand hiding from us," said Michael Ramirez with Solano' County Animal Control.
Ramirez said they know who the woman throwing the pug is - Brandi Chin. They believe she has abused this dog before.
"She was recently seen walking down a business district in Fairfield and she apparently had the dog by the tail and she was swinging it around," said Ramirez.
The video was shot in Fairfield, California on a street in front of a home. The woman living there, Candy Seward, said her roommate is Chin's boyfriend.
She also said the pug is named Ben and was hurt in a heated argument between the couple. Seward says she and others in the video wanted to take Ben from Chin, but she stormed off with the pug before anyone could.
Seward agrees Ben needs to be taken from her.
"I think that she should be punished and maybe someone should talk to her about animal cruelty," she said.
Ramirez believes Chin is hiding in the Vallejo area and hopes people who know where she and Ben are will help end the dog's torture.
