After baking cookies in a car last year, the staff at 12 News wanted to take the experiment up a notch - with a pizza.

The frozen pie was placed into the car (oven) at 1:30 p.m. The temperature outside was 112 degrees.

It didn't take long for the cheese to start to melt. By 2:30 p.m. the pizza was half-cooked. It was fully cooked by 3:30 p.m. The temperature was 116 degrees outside.

After 12 News' " Arizona Car Cookies " went viral last year, we wanted to see if our team could try the same experiment with a pizza.
