Emilie Voss and her groom, Ben Bohland, didn't have any kids at their Jan. 23 wedding in Palm Springs, California. But when it came down to it, they came up with the perfect people to fill the flower girl and ring bearer roles: grandma and grandpa.
According to the Huffington Post, Voss' 95-year-old grandmother, Alice Wheaton, was their flower girl, and the ring bearer responsibility was given to Bohland's grandfather.
Voss, a news anchor for WTOL-TV in Toledo, Ohio, posted some photos from the ceremony to her Facebook page on March 20 – her grandmother's 96th birthday.
"I don't think my Grandma Alice thought we were serious when we asked her to be part of our big day. But she did not disappoint," Voss wrote. "She will always be the most graceful, intelligent, and independent woman I know. I'm lucky to have her in my corner. I know being a flower girl wasn't what she was expecting at 95, so here's to another year of fabulous surprises!!"
