Bridal store Alfred Angelo is offering free wedding dresses on Veterans Day to women who are getting married and are in the military.
Alfred Angelo’s vice president of retail operations, Leo Benoit, is a Vietnam veteran, and thought of the idea, which is called Operation Gown Giveaway.
“As I was talking to one of our brides who happened to be in the military, and who clearly was sacrificing so much as part of her service to our country, I thought that Alfred Angelo could honor and give back to the women who are such a crucial part of our active-duty military,” Benoit said in a statement.
The free dresses available are part of a selected collection of store sample gowns, according to a news release.
Interested women can call their local stores to make an appointment in advance. Women should also bring an ID showing that they are currently serving in the military.
