After the City of Charleston set up a fund to help families of the nine people killed in a mass shooting at a Charleston church, Boeing announced it was donating $100,000.
"Our community is experiencing immense grief and mourning as we all try to come to grips with this horrible tragedy," said Beverly Wyse, Boeing South Carolina vice president and general manager, in a news release.
Charleston Mayor Joe Riley announced the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund Thursday. The fund was launched to help pay for the funerals, counseling services and other needs of the families as they deal with their losses.
A website URL has been reserved and should be active Friday, for those who want to donate.
Alternatively, donations can be made at any Wells Fargo branch by specifying a donation for the “Mother Emanuel Hope Fund.”
