Original story: Comedian and actor Bill Cosby has been charged with aggravated indecent assault, prosecutors announced Wednesday morning.
It is a felony.
He was expected to be arraigned at 4 p.m. ET today. But that was pushed up to 2:30 p.m. ET.
The charge stems from new information that came to light earlier this year, First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele announced during the news conference.
Steele said Cosby provided the victim, Andrea Constand, pills and wine, "the effect of which rendered her unable to respond to his advances, and he committed aggravated, indecent assault upon her."
