Lomas posted a message on Facebook Monday in memory of her son.

"I love you dearly, I love you most. I love you with all my heart and soul," she wrote. "I know that God will keep you near since God and truth are here."

"Today" reported that the boy died Feb. 25.

The baby became famous on the Internet when his mother dressed him up as the Vermont senator and Democratic presidential candidate and took him to rallies.

It has not been reported if an autopsy will take place to determine any factors in the baby's death.

SIDS is usually diagnosed after all other possible causes of death are ruled out.

According to the CDC, an autopsy is usually involved in that process, as well as an examination of the death scene and a review of the infant's medical history.

The boy's aunt, Anastasia Lomas, set up a GoFundMe page that raised $1,000 more than its $16,000 goal in five days.

According to Anastasia Lomas, the finds will go toward funeral and related expenses and counseling costs for the family.
