A Texas middle school assistant band director is facing the music after allegedly selling the school’s musical instruments at a pawn shop.
Former Christen Middle School band teacher Antonio Roberto Alvarez, 43, is accused of pawning thousands of dollars worth of musical instruments, according to KGNS-TV.
Alvarez, who turned himself in to Laredo authorities, resigned his position after the investigation started in January.
The probe started after a trumpet belonging to the school turned up at a pawn shop and police traced the pawn ticket back to Alvarez, KGNS reported.
Alvarez was booked into the Webb County Jail and later released on bond.
