Four people were hospitalized after a bus taking Carnival Ecstasy cruise guests on an excursion crashed in the Bahamas, officials said.
According to the Miami Herald, 32 guests were on board the tour bus Monday morning when it crashed near Rock Sound, Eleuthera. The bus was the only vehicle involved in the rollover wreck, Carnival officials said.
A U.S. military C-130 aircraft transported three of the injured patients to a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, hospital because their wounds were "too severe to be treated in the Bahamas," Broward County officials said. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter took a fourth patient to a Nassau hospital, the Herald reported.
Broward County Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue and Emergency Services said the three people airlifted to Fort Lauderdale "sustained serious injuries ranging from fractures of the arms and legs to internal injuries and possible paralysis," the Herald reported. Officials described the fourth victim's wounds as "minor."
The cruise began in Jacksonville, Florida, on June 22, CNN reported.
