Franklin Santos Ulloa heard the crying for about 10 minutes.
When he opened the back door he found the baby Thursday abandoned in a Nike shoe box with a bottle of formula laid next to her, according to The New York Post.
"I found a baby," Ulloa said as he ran to his neighbors' and called police.
Investigators took the child to the hospital where doctors said she was in good shape. Police are looking for the baby's parents.
Suffolk County Child Protective Services is taking care of the baby.
