Family apparently doesn't trump a broken wrist.
A woman from Manhattan is suing her now 12-year-old nephew for breaking her wrist at his birthday party, the New York Daily News reported.
Jennifer Connell said Sean Tarala, who was 8 years old at the time of the accident, should have known better when he jumped into her arms four years ago.
Connell is suing Tarala for $127,000, The Connecticut Post reported.
Connell told the judge that she loves Tarala, but said he should be held responsible for the injury.
She said she didn't want to hurt his feelings during his party, so she didn't mention the injury at the time.
Connell now claims the injury affected her life negatively, The Connecticut Post reported.
"I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d'oeuvre plate," Connell said.
The boy's immediate family did not comment on the suit, the New York Daily News reported.
No ruling has been issued.
