An anonymous donor paid off thousands of dollars in Christmas layaways for 114 families at a Tulsa-area Walmart.
“This is the epitome of the Christmas spirit. This donor isn’t looking for recognition or glory; he just wants to help others have a brighter Christmas,” said Major Jim Taylor of the Salvation Army.
The secret Santa reached out to the Salvation Army this week to find ways to help.
The merchandise was getting ready to be put back on shelves because the customers were not able to pay the gifts off in time. The donor stepped in and paid nearly $32,000 to cover them all.
The donor is also giving each of the families a $100 Walmart gift card and is making a donation to the Salvation Army to help them buy gifts for the Angel Tree program.
