A second man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of a 19-year-old college student in Alabama last month, a prosecutor said Saturday.
Antwain Fisher, 35, of Montgomery, was arrested Friday night and charged with kidnapping in the case of Aniah Haley Blanchard, who went missing Oct. 23, WRBL reported Saturday.
Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes confirmed Fisher's arrest, the television station reported. Hughes said Fisher was booked into the Lee County Detention Facility early Saturday, WRBL reported.
Update 1:23 p.m. EST Nov. 23: Auburn police Chief Paul Register confirmed Antwain Fisher was arrested Friday by Auburn police and members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, WRBL reported. Fisher is being held in the Lee County Jail. the television station reported. Register said there was no additional information because of a court-mandated gag order, WRBL reported.
Original report: The first suspect identified by police, Ibraheem Yazeed, 30, was arrested Nov. 7 in Escambia County, Florida, and charged with kidnapping.
Authorities said they found blood "indicative of someone suffering a life-threatening injury" inside Blanchard's car, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the Pensacola News Journal and the Montgomery Advertiser.
Forensic testing proved the blood was Blanchard's, the Advertiser reported.
